Run the recurring schedules report (estimated upcoming charges and bills)
TenantLedger can show you an estimated schedule of charges and bills that your recurring setups will generate over a date range you choose. This is a forecast of what’s coming — based on your recurring lease charges, recurring rent, and recurring bills — and it’s useful for planning cash flow ahead of time.
There are two recurring-schedule reports:
- Recurring Lease Charges (Estimated) — upcoming rent and other recurring charges to tenants.
- Recurring Bills (Estimated) — upcoming bills to vendors.
When to use it
- Forecasting expected rent income for the coming month or quarter.
- Anticipating upcoming vendor bills so you can plan around them.
- Sanity-checking that your recurring setups will generate what you expect, before they actually run.
Before you start
- None, but the schedule is only as complete as your recurring setups. If a charge or bill isn’t set up as recurring, it won’t appear here — this report forecasts recurring items only, not one-off charges or bills.
Steps
Recurring lease charges (income coming in)
- In the left sidebar, click Reports.
- Under Leases & Tenants, click Recurring Lease Charges (Estimated).
- In the Property dropdown, choose a property, or choose All.
- Set the Date Range using the from and to boxes. This is the window to forecast; it defaults to the next month. Extend the to date to look further ahead.
- Click Submit.
Recurring bills (expenses going out)
- In the left sidebar, click Reports.
- Under Payables & Vendors, click Recurring Bills (Estimated).
- In the Property dropdown, choose a property, or choose All.
- Set the Date Range using the from and to boxes.
- Click Submit.
What you’ll see
- Recurring Lease Charges (Estimated) lists each upcoming charge with the property, unit, tenant, charge type, estimated charge date, and amount. It includes both recurring lease charges and the recurring rent set on each lease.
- Recurring Bills (Estimated) lists each upcoming bill with the property, payee (vendor), amount, and the estimated bill and due dates.
Both reports are sorted by date, so you can read down the list chronologically to see what’s coming when.
Tips
- These figures are estimates of what your recurring setups are expected to generate — running the report does not create any charges or bills. Actual charges and bills are created automatically by the system on their scheduled dates; this is purely a look-ahead.
- Pick a longer date range (for example, the next three months) to plan further out.
- A related Lease Ending (Estimated) report, also under Leases & Tenants, lists leases scheduled to end within a date range — handy alongside these for renewal planning.
Note on Future Financial Estimation
A separate Future Financial Estimation projection exists in the product but is not currently turned on in the Reports list, so you may not see it. The two recurring-schedule reports above are the available way to look ahead at upcoming charges and bills.
