Tenant Ledger

Edit an owner

What this is

Editing an owner lets you update their contact information, address, or status at any time — for example, adding an email so you can give them Owner Portal access, or correcting a phone number.

When to use it: Edit an owner when their contact details change, when you need to add a missing email before enabling their portal, or when you want to mark an owner Inactive without deleting them.

Before you start

Steps

  1. In the left sidebar, click Owners, then click View on the owner to open their Summary page.
  2. Open the Actions menu (top right) and choose Edit Owner.
  3. Change any of the fields you need:
    • First Name / Last Name — the owner’s (or company’s) name.
    • Phone and Email — contact details. Adding an email here is what lets you invite the owner to the Owner Portal afterward.
    • Address, Country / State / City, Zip Code — remember the location dropdowns cascade if you change the country.
    • StatusActive or Inactive.
  4. Click Save.

What you’ll see

After saving, you return to the owner’s Summary page showing the updated details. If the owner already has Owner Portal access, their login email updates to match a changed email address.

Tips

  • Adding an email is the prerequisite for Enable Owner Portal access for an owner — do this first if the owner has no email on file.
  • Marking an owner Inactive keeps their history and reports intact while signaling they’re no longer current.
